SOLD: 1974 Ford Escort Mexico

We are delighted to bring to market this genuine 1974 MK1 Ford Escort Mexico.

The V5 shows the all-important 'BFAT' chassis number prefix and it is correctly recorded as an 'Escort Mexico' too. The car is stripped and ready to compete having undergone a full rebuild in 2009 and having only been very lightly used since. Previously painted Green, this car comes with an existing MSA log-book and would be eligible for rallying once more with very little prep required to do so. Four-point harnesses and seats would need to be renewed for competing but the roll-cage is MSA approved and the engine (correct 1.6 'Kent' cross-flow) has been fettled for increased performance. A dyno print-out within the history file shows 109bhp at the crank and 91.9bhp at the wheels - a significant lift vs. standard. The specification is as follows:

Rocker gear springs replaced with spacers, H/D rocker shaft, lightened rocker arms, cylinder head by Vulcan Engineering stage 3, piper double valve springs, piper collets, steel duplex timing gear, steel rocker posts, high pressure oil pump, Burton uprated con-rod bolts, Vandervell uprated shells in big ends and mains.
