Ordered via TVR dealer ‘Kerridges’ and registered in June 1998, this is a fantastic example of the fabled TVR Griffith 500. Crucially it has a colossal accompanying service history that will totally reassure the next owner too.  Within this file is the original specification sheet showing optional power-steering and rear speakers (which have recently been upgraded with standard looking 480watt JBL items and a Pioneer radio too).

The ‘Pearlescent Biarritz/Tahiti Blue’ paint presents flawlessly well, whilst the interior with the tasteful combination of  ‘Blue Ambla’ dash top, gaiters and armrest with ‘Magnolia’ seats and TVR embossed dials is also super. The burr walnut dashboard veneer that houses the dials is abnormally perfect – completely void of any ripples or cracks. The carpets and mohair hood all still look great too.

Within the original leather-bound owners handbook there are 27 stamps in the service book – one for every year of the Griff’s life and all from TVR main agents such as Kerridges, Castle TVR, Hexham Horseless Carriages and Fernhurst. More latterly, since the demise of TVR, specialists such as RB Sportscars and Tecknik 9 also feature too.

Further to this, the history (invoices, MOT certificates etc) of this gem of a Griffith is all neatly chronicled in a smart ‘Motor Folio’ leather ring-bound file. Recent (February 2026) expenditure includes new drilled discs and pads front and rear and the big 12,000 mile service in April 2026 at 57,147 miles (just 499 miles ago).

In 2017 HHC Sportscars (formerly Hexham Horseless Carriages) replaced the original outriggers at 49,656 miles. The car has since covered only 8,192 miles and has received regular documented protection too.

The car starts willingly with exceptionally good oil pressure, even when warm and idling. On the road it is a dream; this Griffith feels substantially faster than most with a relentless slug of torque that still really impresses today. The steering is precise and not overly-assisted and the brakes are very good indeed – better than the average in this domain too. The quality Toyo TR1 tyres are date stamped 2022 (and embossed with the TVR logo) so you can have confidence in these also.

We understand TVR’s and only deal in the best examples. If you are looking for a Griffith 500 that not only presents well but has had the right expenditure to ensure further enjoyment without immediate hassle and expense (i.e. out-riggers and 12k mile service), then look no further.
