We are delighted to offer this magnificent late (phase 2) 'Big Healey' for sale. Presented in Colorado Red with black interior, the car presents very well with excellent brightwork and panel fit, no corrosion at all and a very light patina to the paint. The interior also presents very well, though with more heavily patinated seats commensurate to the mileage.

This is a matching numbers, home market (UK) right-hand drive motorcar with documented mileage as per indication on odometer of 99,635.

Purchased by the current custodian in 1973, the car retains the original log-book which documents each owner from new. From 1966 until 1973 the car had 5-owners all of which lived in Derbyshire. The Healey clocked up most of its miles early in its life. More latterly (since the 1980’s) MOT certificates and sundry invoices show it has been enjoyed modestly, with ~500 miles per annum being the norm latterly. Although there is no requirement to do so, due to its historical vehicle status, KRB 167D has continued to be MOT’d annually with no advisory items appearing at any point whatsoever, indicating the excellent level of maintenance the car has undergone.

It was subject to an extensive restoration in the mid 1990’s and thereafter in 2011/2012. There are pictures in the history file showing both of these restorations. The engine has retained its original capacity but has been otherwise rebuilt including new valves, rings, crank-ground, new oil pump etc. and has covered approximately 4k miles since.

This is an honest, well-maintained example that is in great condition with low ownership and the same diligent owner for 50 years! It drives well with a willing engine and gearbox (with overdrive) that functions as it should. The phase 2 MKIII ‘Big Healeys’ are very desirable, owing to increased power, servo-assisted brakes, improved rear suspension and a more luxurious interior compared to the earlier cars.
