We are absolutely delighted to offer this outstanding ‘BJ7’ MKIIA for sale. Considered by many to be the 'sweet spot' of the Austin Healey 3000 line-up; retaining the early delicate styling but with some of the later car improvements and refinements.

Manufactured in January 1963 this beautiful ‘Big Healey’ was imported from dry state Ohio in 2013 whereupon it began a no-expense spared, complete nut-and-bolt rebuild to concourse standard by leading restoration specialists.

Although this beautiful motorcar was in remarkable structural condition anyhow, the restoration was so extensive and meticulous that it took 4.5 years to complete. Absolutely everything has been refurbished or replaced making this undoubtedly one of the best examples of the marque, both for sale and in existence. Being a US motorcar it was originally left-hand-drive, but during the restoration has been converted to right-hand-drive using componentry from ‘A Head for Healeys Co Ltd.’

Presented in arguably the best, but without doubt the most iconic, two-tone colour combination of Healey Ice Blue over Old English White (Ivory), the body is completely faultless. The panel gaps are utterly perfect and the paintwork pristine. The underside is every bit as good as the top also.

Within the huge history file every single item has been documented, from the smallest items through to the engine and overdrive rebuild. The brightwork is new and immaculate. The interior is trimmed in fine quality black hide as per original specification, with new Wilton carpets and mohair hood with cover. The steering wheel is the original thin rimmed item in superb condition whilst showing modest patina commensurate with the age of the car but low odometer reading of 56,319 miles. The windscreen and the side glass are new.

There is a wealth of documentation regarding the purchase and importation to the UK, including pictures taken at the time. Indeed the extensive digital photo library which is included in the history file shows the extent of the restoration and is further reassurance of the quality of work undertaken to reach the near concourse condition that the motorcar is presented in today. A heritage certificate which accompanies it also verifies the authenticity. There is simply too much to list and this example must be seen to be truly appreciated.

The MKIIA is one of the more desirable Healey 3000 models - featuring the traditional early dashboard yet integrating the later cars wind-up windows and a ‘pram-style’ hood.

Surely one of the the best examples on the market today.
