Presented in Chariot Red and trimmed in red hide, this desirable genuine Twin-Cam is a very late example (allegedly one of the final eleven cars).

A heritage certificate contained within the history file confirms the authenticity of this being a rare Twin-Cam model. It was supplied as a ‘Complete Knock Down’ (CKD) kit i.e. exported in component form to South Africa where it was then assembled. Thus it has always been a right-hand drive car and though supplied in kit form and in primer, the trim was originally red and the hood grey; as the car presents today. The car remained in South Africa until the mid-2000’s whereupon it spent a short period in Austria followed by Germany, before making it home to its UK birthplace in 2013.

It is well known that the MGA Twin-Cam suffered from engine maladies in period. Fortunately this example has been fully rebuilt in 2019 by the notable specialist Peter Wood of Westwood Portway Ltd, Buckingham. Suffice to say everything is documented in exquisite detail within the history file (including a raft of photographs) and the final bill equating to approximately £14,000 should provide the ultimate reassurance that it was done properly! The car starts without hesitation and quickly settles to an even and purposeful sounding idle. Once on the move thereafter it does not disappoint, pulling very eagerly and revving freely whilst the four speed gearbox also selects all ratio’s smoothly. The brakes (discs all round) too pull the car up well without drama.

Bodywork and brightwork is also extremely good, with the hood in good operable condition with a non-crazed clear rear screen. Delightful, rare and sorted there is nothing not to like. Any inspection is welcomed.
