The 2,035cc six-cylinder 16.9 was precursor to the 18.2 which replaced it in 1930. This delightful example was lovingly restored and returned to the road in 2009. It is in exemplary condition and drives as good as it looks. A modern ignition and fuel pump improve reliability, whilst the engine starts effortlessly and pulls very willingly. These were famed for being able to pull from 5mph all the way to the top speed of 60mph in top (fourth) gear and with the impressive torque of this particular car it is more than likely capable of achieving this. Despite being a 'crash' non-synchro affair, the gearbox is very smooth and the brakes effective and even. The steering is surprisingly very light and precise. Everything from the smart French Blue over Navy paintwork, nickel finished radiator and chromed lamps is exceptionally good, with the chassis in equally fine fettle. The interior has been trimmed with top quality blue hide and carpets and the woodwork is superb too. A rare find indeed, let alone in this condition.
